Lomé, November 10, 2025 -(©AfreePress)- President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday to take part in the UAE–Chad Trade and Investment Forum, a major international gathering aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and development partnerships.
The high-level forum officially opened this Monday, November 10, 2025, bringing together several heads of state and government, leaders of international financial institutions, development banks, and private sector representatives from around the world.
The event seeks to mobilize resources and strategic partnerships in support of Chad’s National Development Plan (PND 2030), known as “Chad Connection 2030”, which draws inspiration from successful African models — notably the Togolese experience.
President Faure Gnassingbé’s participation reflects his country’s commitment to South–South cooperation and African solidarity. During the high-level discussions, the Togolese leader is expected to share insights from Togo’s National Development Plan (PND 2018–2022), built on a public–private partnership model and further reinforced by the Government Roadmap Togo 2025.
This strategy, centered on the structural transformation of the national economy, has driven a wave of reforms and flagship projects aimed at job creation, infrastructure modernization, and the promotion of peace and social cohesion.
As part of the cooperation between Lomé and Abu Dhabi, Togo has benefited from technical and financial support from the UAE for the implementation of key projects, including the Blitta solar photovoltaic plant and major road infrastructure works.
This year’s forum features plenary sessions, thematic panels, and networking workshops designed to foster the realization of high-impact socio-economic projects.
According to the organizers, the forum is an ambitious strategic platform structured around seventeen investment programs, aimed at turning Chad’s potential into a powerful driver of regional and continental growth.
Togo’s presence at this Abu Dhabi gathering underscores its growing role on the African and international economic stage — driven by a vision of cooperation, sustainability, and innovation.
